This Just In

The Amari Method

Come back into balance.

Where it shows up

Something is working too hard because something else isn't working enough.

Most people come in after trying everything else. A back that takes an hour to loosen in the morning. A neck that won't turn without pain running down an arm. Hips too tight to sit through a movie. A jaw clenched shut by lunchtime. Wherever it shows up, the imbalance driving it can be found and worked with directly.

Take It Home

The Living Practice

Every session ends with a protocol you can do at home, often in five minutes a day. The Living Practice keeps the whole method in your pocket, so the change holds long after you leave the table.

Your First Visit

You'll feel the difference before you leave.

Your first visit is a full 60 minutes. Your history and the way you move get read closely, then your first protocol is built with you. Most people walk out moving in a way they'd stopped expecting.

I thought the best I could hope for was less pain. I've never felt this at home in my body.

Questions

What people ask before their first visit.

Straight answers, no sales pitch.

Does the Amari Method take insurance, or can I use my HSA or FSA?+
We don't bill insurance directly, but we provide a superbill on request that you can submit for possible reimbursement. Affirm is available at checkout for series. Many HSA and FSA plans allow reimbursement for care like this, but it depends on your specific plan, so check with your plan administrator before booking.
How is the Amari Method different from physical therapy?+
Physical therapy usually focuses on one specific injury, with exercises prescribed over a set course of visits, often after surgery or a referral. The Amari Method looks at your whole body to find why the pain is there, then teaches you protocols you keep for good. It is not a replacement for medically necessary PT. Many clients come to Amari after physical therapy hasn't given them lasting relief.
Does the Amari Method help with sciatica, a herniated disc, or TMJ and jaw clenching?+
Yes, these are common reasons people come in. Clients dealing with sciatica, disc-related pain, or jaw clenching have found relief by rebalancing the areas working too hard around the painful spot, instead of working on the spot alone. One client expected a herniated disc to mean surgery and avoided it. Another came in for back pain and found her jaw clenching eased too. Severe or urgent conditions should be checked with a medical professional first, and you'll be told plainly whether the method is a fit.
Where in San Francisco do you see clients?+
Clients are seen in person in San Francisco's Richmond District, and virtually anywhere. Exact address and directions come with your booking confirmation. Virtual sessions cover the same protocols over video, so distance isn't a barrier.
Is the Amari Method backed by science? Is it legit?+
The Amari Method isn't a drug or a procedure. It's grounded in how the body moves and rebalances. The same principles show up in established movement practices like Feldenkrais and Pilates. What most people trust is the first session: most clients feel a real difference before they leave, and if you don't, we keep working with you at no extra charge. Garrett built the method over 25+ years of hands-on work.
What is the Living Practice program, and can I buy it on its own?+
Living Practice is a guided video program that teaches the complete Amari Method at home, in 53 short lessons that follow the same order the method is taught in person. It's included with the 8-session series, and you can also buy it on its own for $347.
