The Amari Method

A different kind of movement session.

Where it shows up

When pain or restriction gets in the way.

A knee that changes how much you ride. Shin pain that shortens every run. A jaw that clenches through the workday. Shoulders and headaches that make long hours harder to live in. Amari works with the whole body, not just the place that hurts.

I thought the best I could hope for was less pain. I've never felt this at home in my body.

Questions

What people ask before their first visit.

Straight answers, no sales pitch.

Does the Amari Method take insurance, or can I use my HSA or FSA?+
We don't bill insurance directly, but we provide a superbill on request that you can submit for possible reimbursement. HSA and FSA eligibility depends on your plan, so check with your administrator before booking.
How is the Amari Method different from physical therapy?+
Amari is private, hands-on guided movement. You are active in the session: moving, breathing, and working through a precise physical setup with direct guidance. It is not a class, generic mobility work, or a substitute for medically necessary care.
Does the Amari Method help with sciatica, a herniated disc, or TMJ and jaw clenching?+
Those are common reasons people explore Amari. The Assessment is a chance to experience the work and decide whether the practice is a fit. Severe, urgent, or medically concerning symptoms should be evaluated by an appropriate medical professional.
Where in San Francisco do you see clients?+
Clients are seen in person in San Francisco's Richmond District, and virtually anywhere. Exact address and directions come with your booking confirmation. Virtual sessions cover the same protocols over video, so distance isn't a barrier.
Is the Amari Method backed by science? Is it legit?+
Amari works with position, leverage, breath, movement, and hands-on guidance so a person can experience a more available way of moving. The $29 Assessment is designed to let you experience the work directly and decide whether it is useful for you.
What is the Living Practice program, and can I buy it on its own?+
Living Practice is a guided video program that teaches the complete Amari Method at home, in 53 short lessons that follow the same order the method is taught in person. It is available separately for people who want a clear daily practice at home.
